Before I began working with Val, I was impressed at Val's personal interest in me. Before we ever did the wardrobe consulting which I assumed would be most of the effort, Val did a number of things. First, Val identified ways I could improve my posture and my walk significantly, giving me homework exercises including things I had never tried like hula hooping.
Next, I completed an extensive questionnaire about myself. Then we explored how to open up chakras and chakra colors. I would describe myself as practical and open but not intuitive or spiritual, so my interest level in chakras energy surprised me. I knew nothing about chakras and found the fact that women can wear any color very interesting after having followed the 'Color Me Beautiful' swatches of the 1980's.
When she came over and eliminated about 1/3 of my wardrobe, I thought she chose well. I didn't feel my usual resistance to throwing things away which was wonderful and partly because she put me in the right mindset for the activity before we began eliminating clothes from my closet. When Val did do the pairing down exercise, she also helped me place everything back in the closet in a very organized manner.
As she begins to design my outfit combinations, she is creating photos form my reference which is very helpful. I recommend Mode in Style and Val highly for all the unique things I have already learned about my posture and style. Some may wonder, upon meeting Val, if a petite, fashion-forward lady could design a wardrobe and style for a plus sized, 40-something professional and I want to say YES, and very successfully!
Thank you so much, Val, for all of your dedicated time and attention!
